Reports of the outage flooded in from various regions, including Pakistan, where users encountered difficulties accessing Instagram. Many users found themselves unable to log in to their accounts, experiencing automatic logouts.
At the height of the disruption, more than 5,000 users in the United States alone reported issues with accessing the popular photo-sharing platform, according to data from Downdetector.
Downdetector aggregates outage data from multiple sources, including user-reported errors on its platform, providing real-time insights into service disruptions.
Meta Platforms, the parent company of Instagram, did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters regarding the outage.
