Mushtaq Ghani, a senior leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been deprived of a ministerial position in the provincial cabinet after serving as the provincial speaker.
According to reports, there were expectations that he would be appointed as a senior minister in the provincial cabinet. However, despite taking the oath in the cabinet sworn in by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur the previous day, he was not included in the cabinet as a minister.
Sources close to his family claim that Umar Ayub, Asad Qaiser, and PTI Secretary-General Ali Asghar Khan hindered Mushtaq Ghani’s appointment as a minister.
The PTI party sources stated that Mushtaq Ghani had left the country during difficult times for the party.
PTI Adviser to the Chief Minister, Muhammad Ali Saif, told Geo News that Mushtaq Ghani would be adjusted later.
Meanwhile, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a 15-member cabinet took the oath, including Arshad Ayub, Shakil Ahmed, Fazal Hakim Khan, Muhammad Adnan, Aqibullah, Muhammad Sajjad, Meena Khan, Fazal Shakoor, Nazir Ahmad Abbasi, Pakhtun Yar, Aftab Alam, Khaliq Rahman, Syed Qasim Ali Shah, Faisal Khan Turki, and Muhammad Zaher Shah Toru.
The exclusion of Mushtaq Ghani from the provincial cabinet, despite his seniority and previous roles within the party, underscores the internal dynamics and power struggles within the PTI. It also highlights the challenges faced by political leaders in navigating party politics and securing positions of influence within the government.
