Caretaker administrations in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have officially declared a four-day hiatus for all educational institutions across the provinces. Private and public schools, colleges, and universities in both regions will remain closed from February 6 to 9, aligning with the scheduled general elections on February 8.
The temporary closure is attributed to the necessity of establishing polling stations at numerous educational facilities and assigning teachers and other personnel to election duties. In Sindh, caretaker Chief Minister Justice retired Maqbool Baqar gave approval to a summary submitted by the education department, leading to the decision to close schools for the specified four days. A day earlier, the Punjab government had also announced a parallel four-day closure of schools in anticipation of the upcoming general elections.
