In a recent political gathering, Asifa Bhutto Zardari, a prominent leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), addressed a rally in Liyari, Karachi. Speaking passionately, she emphasized the party’s commitment to being people-friendly and pledged to eradicate poverty and hunger while regularizing informal settlements and granting property rights to residents.
Addressing the crowd in Liyari’s Agra Taj area during the rally, Asifa Bhutto Zardari asserted the solidarity between PPP and Liyari, expressing mutual support. She encouraged the attendees to vote for Bilawal Bhutto, the PPP chairman, emphasizing the potential for collective change in Pakistan through unity.
The rally, attended by PPP leaders including Saeed Ghani and Nabeel Gabol, commenced from the Tower area and concluded at the Ghas Mandi in various localities of Liyari.
On another front, Senator Waqar Mehdi, the General Secretary of PPP Sindh, addressed an election corner meeting in Karachi’s Clifton neighborhood, Bot Basin. During his speech, he lauded Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as a visionary leader, stating that no other leader in the country possesses a comparable vision for improving the economic and financial situation.
Senator Mehdi praised PPP’s historical contributions to Karachi, claiming that the party has always worked for the betterment of the city. He criticized past leaders who, during their 35-year rule, turned Karachi from a peaceful city into a blood-stained one. Despite three MQM mayors in Karachi, Senator Mehdi argued, the city deteriorated instead of progressing.
Highlighting PPP’s achievements, Senator Mehdi pointed out that the provincial government under PPP’s leadership had successfully completed multi-billion rupee development projects in Karachi. He declared that PPP would emerge as the single largest party in the upcoming elections on February 8th, promising a brighter future for Karachi.
These political events in Karachi reflect the ongoing campaign activities ahead of the elections. Asifa Bhutto Zardari’s rally in Liyari signifies PPP’s dedication to addressing social issues, while Senator Waqar Mehdi’s corner meeting in Clifton underscores the party’s vision for economic prosperity and its confidence in securing a significant victory in the upcoming polls. The political landscape in Karachi remains dynamic, with various parties striving to secure support and influence in this key metropolitan area.
