Shah Khawar, the newly appointed Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him by the PCB headquarters staff and Prime Minister Imran Khan, who serves as the PCB’s patron. Following the charge assumption at the Gaddafi Stadium, Khawar extended his appreciation to the Prime Minister and PCB Patron Anwar ul Haq for their confidence in him.
During his visit to the PCB headquarters in Lahore, Shah Khawar engaged with Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer and other staff members. He was briefed on various aspects, including the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), upcoming elections, and other cricket-related matters.
Shah Khawar emphasized the importance of assuming responsibilities with integrity and pledged to ensure transparency in the upcoming PCB elections. He expressed his commitment to fulfilling the purpose for which he has been entrusted with the responsibility, with a focus on conducting fair and transparent elections within the PCB.
Earlier, upon his arrival in Lahore, Shah Khawar was warmly welcomed by the Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer and other staff members. He was presented with flowers, and on the first day, briefings were held on PSL, upcoming elections, and other cricket affairs.
Shah Khawar is expected to serve a crucial role in the forthcoming PCB elections, working towards ensuring transparency and fairness. The visit to the PCB headquarters and interactions with the staff underscore the chairman’s commitment to making positive changes within the organization.
On another note, MPA Mohsin Naqvi, who is nominated for the position of Punjab governor by the PCB patron, will not be able to meet Shah Khawar immediately due to his scheduled Umrah departure to Saudi Arabia. His return is anticipated on January 29, after which a meeting with Shah Khawar is expected. This highlights the dynamic environment surrounding PCB affairs and the diverse responsibilities undertaken by key figures in Pakistani cricket administration.
