Shoaib Siddiqui, a prominent leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has accused Bilawal Bhutto, the head of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), of enticing independent candidates with financial incentives and likened the efforts of the opposition to a sinking ship led by Nawaz Sharif.
Speaking during an interview on Geo News’ program “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Ke Saath,” Siddiqui asserted that Bilawal Bhutto is allegedly using financial inducements to lure independent candidates who are contesting the upcoming elections. He went on to claim that Bilawal Bhutto’s tactics resemble an attempt to rescue a ship that is destined to sink, referring to the PPP leader’s efforts to consolidate opposition forces against the PTI.
Siddiqui suggested that individuals who secure PTI tickets through the party’s democratic process are unlikely to betray their commitments. He expressed confidence that those given the opportunity to represent PTI in the elections will remain loyal, highlighting the trustworthiness of candidates selected through the party’s internal mechanisms.
During the interview, Shoaib Siddiqui emphasized the weakened position of the PPP in Punjab, suggesting that the party is unlikely to secure a single seat in the province. His remarks underscore the competitive dynamics and the confidence within PTI regarding the upcoming electoral contest.
As the political landscape in Pakistan intensifies in the run-up to the elections, Siddiqui’s allegations against Bilawal Bhutto shed light on the rivalries and strategies at play. The accusations of financial inducements add a layer of complexity to the already contentious political environment, signaling a heated battle for electoral support in the coming days.
