ICC Cricket Awards 2023: A Phased Unveiling of Cricket Excellence

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a phased unveiling of the awards, with the first phase focusing on revealing awards for five teams. The selection of all five teams is being carried out by an independent panel of media representatives organized by the ICC Voting Academy.

Today and tomorrow, the ICC will disclose the awards for Men’s and Women’s T20 International Teams of the Year. Additionally, the announcement for the Men’s and Women’s One Day International Teams, along with the Men’s Test Team of the Year, is scheduled for tomorrow.

In the second phase, the unveiling of names for 13 fortunate players will take place. This announcement includes the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year for the prestigious Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year in the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy. The categories for this announcement will be revealed on January 25th and 26th.

Further, on January 25th, the announcement for the winners of the Emerging Cricketers of the Year, T20I, and Emerging Cricketers of the Year in Emerging Teams of the Year will also be made.

On January 26th, the revelation will encompass the Umpire of the Year, Men’s and Women’s One Day Cricketers of the Year, Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year, Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy, and the Spirit of Cricket Award.

Notably, from January 1st to December 31st, 2023, the awards for the best-performing players in cricket will be announced following the Teams of the Year. The selection of winners is based on votes cast by the ICC Voting Academy and cricket enthusiasts worldwide, who can vote on the ICC’s website (ICC Cricket Dot Com).
