The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has officially announced the location for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifier match against Cambodia, set for October 17.
Following the approval of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), the PFF has chosen Jinnah Stadium in Islamabad as the venue for this highly-anticipated clash.
In connection with this matter, the PFF Normalisation Committee (NC) has forwarded venue details to the AFC and FIFA, currently awaiting their ultimate confirmation.
A FIFA and AFC delegation is slated to visit the well-known facility within the Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad for a thorough inspection before granting final approval.
There are also reports indicating the Punjab Sports Board’s (PSB) willingness to provide Punjab Stadium as an alternative option for the pivotal qualifier match against Cambodia.
Earlier this week, following clearance from the Pakistan Sports Board, a PFF delegation conducted a comprehensive assessment of the renowned Islamabad venue.
The PFF delegation was composed of Shahid Khokhar, a prominent member of the PFF Normalisation Committee, and Shahzad Anwar, the head coach of the national team.
Shahid Khokhar conveyed his contentment with the stadium’s facilities, commending the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) for their diligent efforts in ensuring a successful hosting.
