Pakistan Peoples Party Announces Candidates for National and Provincial Assemblies in Sindh and Balochistan

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has finalized its list of candidates for the upcoming elections in Sindh and Balochistan, targeting both the national and provincial assemblies. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is set to contest from NA-194 Larkana and NA-196 Kambar Shahdadkot, while Asif Ali Zardari will vie for NA-207 Shaheed Benazirabad.

Former MNA Khursheed Shah will contest from NA-201 Sukkur, Shazia Marri from NA-209 Sanghar, and Nafisa Shah from NA-202 Khairpur, adding depth to PPP’s representation. In a notable move, Ghaus Baksh Mehr, son of Ghotki’s influential figure Ghot Baksh Mehr, has been nominated from Shikarpur for the National Assembly.

Addressing the provincial dynamics, former Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah will compete in PS-77 Jamshoro, Faryal Talpur in PS-10 Larkana, and Sharjeel Inam Memon in PS-61 Hyderabad. The PPP has strategically placed key figures in various constituencies, including PPP Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani in PS-9 Shikarpur, Imtiaz Shaikh in PS-7 Shikarpur, and Sardar Shah in PS-49 Umerkot.

In addition to the seasoned politicians, prominent personalities such as Nabil Gabol from NA-239 Karachi and Jam Abdul Karim Jokhio from NA-229 Karachi will be contributing to the PPP’s electoral front in Karachi. The PPP’s electoral strategy includes fielding candidates like Arfan Laghari in NA-227 Dadu and Rafique Ahmed Jamali in NA-228, both representing the party’s stronghold in the interior of Sindh.

Furthermore, the PPP has extended its political landscape into Balochistan, revealing its candidates for the National Assembly and provincial assembly seats. Former Chief Minister of Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri will contest from NA-261, while Abdul Wahab Baloch has been nominated from NA-262. The party’s candidates for Balochistan Assembly include Sardar Shahbaz Tareen from PB-1 Sherani, Jaffarabad, Muhammad Ramzan Achakzai from PB-2 Dera Bugti, and Rozi Khan Kakar from PB-3 Killa Abdullah.

These announcements underscore PPP’s concerted efforts to field a diverse and influential set of candidates, aiming to secure a significant presence in the National and Provincial Assemblies of both Sindh and Balochistan.
