Boeing’s China head, Liu Qing, announced that all Boeing 737 MAX jets operated by Chinese carriers are back in service, marking the culmination of their return nearly a year after the global grounding in 2019. The best-selling Boeing model faced grounding after fatal crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia. While the MAX resumed service globally in late 2020, Chinese airlines only reintroduced them in January 2023. This development fuels speculation that Boeing may soon restart deliveries of the 737 MAX to China. The company recently made its first direct delivery of a 787 Dreamliner to China since 2019.
