Today marks the ninth death anniversary of Afzal Tauseef, a distinguished poetess, writer, educator, and columnist in Pakistan. Originally from Hoshiarpur, she relocated to Lahore after the partition and contributed significantly to Punjabi and Urdu literature. Her notable works include ‘Talhi Meray Bachray,’ ‘Dard Ki Dehleez,’ and ‘Aman Walay Millan Gay.’ Afzal Tauseef’s columns, particularly ‘Karwa Sach,’ continued to grace newspapers, earning her widespread recognition. In 2009, the Government of Pakistan honored her with the Presidential Award for Excellence in Literature. Her legacy continues to influence and inspire the literary landscape in Pakistan.
