Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook, is the most recent tech giant to incur fines in Italy due to violations of the gambling advertising ban. The Italian communications watchdog, AGCOM, announced on Friday that Meta has been fined 5.85 million euros ($6.45 million). The penalties are related to profiles and accounts on Facebook and Instagram, along with sponsored content that promoted betting or games with cash prizes. Meta has not provided an immediate comment on the situation.
