Chief selector of the national men’s selection committee, Wahab Riaz, assured that pace sensation Naseem Shah will be fully recovered in time for the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Speaking at a media event, Riaz stated that he had met with Shah and noted positive progress in his rehabilitation after shoulder surgery. Riaz clarified that Shah won’t be part of the Pakistan squad for the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand.
Acknowledging Shan Masood’s stellar domestic performances, Riaz highlighted that the batsman, currently leading the Pakistan Test squad in Australia, has been given opportunities in international events. He also extended congratulations to the national women’s team for their historic series win against New Zealand.
In a recent update, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) mentioned that Naseem Shah has entered the final stage of rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore. The young pacer, who sustained an injury during the Asia Cup in September, underwent surgery in the UK and received continuous care from a medical team. Islamabad United has signed Naseem Shah for the upcoming PSL edition.
