The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has taken legal action against his five-year disqualification by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) over the Toshakhana case. Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Ali Zafar, representing the former prime minister, filed a petition with the Lahore High Court, asserting that the ECP’s hasty decision was unlawful and aimed at sidelining him from politics. The petitioner contends that the allegations were baseless and expresses a desire to participate in the upcoming general elections. The former premier urges the court to overturn the ECP’s decision and halt the notification until the court reaches a verdict on his petition.
