Islamic Scholars Unite in Condemning Israel’s Actions at Al-Quds Conference

In a powerful declaration during the Al-Quds Conference held in Karachi, the head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, reminded the Muslim world of the 1970 Lahore Agreement, which vowed not to accept Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory. Addressing the Haram-e-Masjid Al-Aqsa Conference, Maulana Fazlur Rehman emphasized that Muslim rulers must be reminded that granting recognition to Israel would not be permitted.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman further stated that the United States should play a role in maintaining a balance of power in the region by restraining the use of force and influencing China and Russia positively.

Echoing these sentiments, Sirajul Haq, the leader of Jamaat-e-Islami, criticized Muslim rulers for their silence on the atrocities committed by the United States and Israel. He asserted that Muslim rulers’ silence is as complicit in the killings of Palestinians as the hands of the United States and Israel.

In a passionate address, Sirajul Haq emphasized that the Muslim world does not accept two-state solutions and condemned the silence of Muslim leaders in the face of the brutal killings in Palestine. He warned that if the government cannot stop Israeli atrocities, the people should be given the route to Gaza.

Professor Sajid Mir highlighted the need to move beyond diplomatic efforts and called for stronger action. He drew parallels between the issue of Palestine and the Kashmir conflict, urging Pakistan to take more concrete steps in solidarity with Palestine.

The conference, held on the 8th of December, declared that the issue of Palestine is comparable to that of Kashmir and called for the termination of diplomatic and trade relations with Israel. The conference demanded the freedom of Masjid Al-Aqsa and urged the public to boycott Israeli products.

The participants emphasized the importance of observing December 8 as a day of solidarity with Al-Quds throughout the country. The conference united various sects and declared support for Hamas, recognizing its struggle as legitimate and just. It urged Muslim countries to boycott Israeli products and companies and called for the immediate cessation of Israeli atrocities in Palestine.
