The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is gearing up for the upcoming general elections in Islamabad by setting up nearly 990 polling stations and 3,096 polling booths. The election plan, outlined for the federal capital, anticipates the participation of over one million voters spread across the three constituencies: NA 46, NA 47, and NA 48.
Divided into three districts, the federal capital’s plan includes essential details like constituency population, registered voters, potential polling stations, and the required election staff. According to the document, Islamabad’s total population stands at 2.36 million, with 1.83 million registered voters. The capital city hosts 568,505 male voters and 514,625 female voters.
The Election Commission is set to appoint 1,040 presiding officers, 3,251 assistant presiding officers, and an equal number of polling officers. Additionally, at least 1,040 senior assistant polling officers will be appointed to ensure the smooth conduct of the electoral process in the three constituencies.
