Nawab Lashkari Raisani contemplates PML-N offer, Shehbaz Sharif emphasizes unity in Quetta visit.

In a recent development, Nawab Lashkari Raisani revealed on Wednesday that a decision regarding joining the PML-N is imminent, following a visit from former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who extended an invitation to join the party. Raisani expressed the belief that participating in the political process and engaging with the parliamentary system offered the best solutions to the country’s challenges. He acknowledged Nawaz Sharif’s understanding of the prevailing issues and regarded the PML-N’s offer as a matter of honor.

During the meeting, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the long-standing relationship with the Raisani brothers, Aslam Raisani and Lashkari Raisani, spanning five decades since the time of their father, Ghous Bakhsh Khan Raisani. Shehbaz acknowledged Lashkari Raisani’s nationalist political stance, highlighting his commitment to non-violent means within the political system.

Shehbaz Sharif revealed that the Raisani brothers had, in principle, decided to align with PML-N’s politics, with a final decision expected in the coming days after further consultations, including discussions with party leaders like Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

Shehbaz characterized Nawaz Sharif as a statesman, emphasizing his commitment to Balochistan and his efforts to address the region’s challenges during his three terms as prime minister. He criticized the previous PTI government for its alleged mismanagement and stressed the need for all stakeholders to collaborate and rectify mistakes made over the past 75 years.

The visit to Raisani’s residence in Quetta followed a recent meeting between Lashkari Raisani and Shehbaz in Lahore. This visit is part of ongoing political consultations led by Ayaz Sadiq, assigned to strengthen the PML-N’s position in Balochistan by engaging with political leaders and elders in the province.

Addressing remarks made by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Shehbaz Sharif described him as a “little brother” and emphasized the importance of practicing mature politics in the current political landscape. Bilawal had earlier suggested that Nawaz Sharif should focus on Punjab, but Shehbaz stressed the need for unity and collaboration among political parties to address the challenges facing the country.
