The influencer said the decision came after months of severe mental distress following his intercaste marriage to Ritika. Dobhal described the past three months as the most painful period of his life, saying his life had “drastically changed” in ways he never expected.
According to Dobhal, family tensions intensified after his marriage. He claimed he faced public humiliation from relatives and was forced to apologise to elders during family gatherings. Despite believing he had done nothing wrong, he said he had to fold his hands and touch their feet to maintain peace within the family.
The YouTuber also alleged that his parents warned him they would not allow him to live peacefully or happily. Intercaste marriages continue to face resistance in parts of India despite growing social acceptance, as highlighted in studies by the National Commission for Women and research conducted by the Pew Research Center.
Dobhal opened up about the emotional impact of these conflicts, revealing that the pressure pushed him into a deep depressive state. He also recalled his earlier struggles with health, sharing that he was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 14, which brought years of challenges and family pressure.
The situation reportedly escalated further when he claimed his brother threatened to take away his belongings, including his dogs. In a heartfelt message addressed to his wife Ritika, Dobhal acknowledged that people might criticise him in the future but reaffirmed his love for her and his commitment to supporting their family.
The revelations have deeply concerned his followers, particularly as the couple—married for about a year—recently announced that they are expecting their first child. Fans have since flooded social media with messages urging Dobhal to seek professional support while requesting privacy and compassion for the couple during this difficult time.
