Pakistan Announces Deadline for Illegal Residents; Strict Measures to Follow

In a recent statement, Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Sarfaraz Bugti, declared that illegal foreign residents have until November 1st to leave the country voluntarily. After this deadline, there will be no compromise for those who remain unlawfully, emphasizing that this policy is not only directed at Afghan nationals but applies to all illegal aliens residing in Pakistan.

The announcement clarified that the decision to provide an opportunity for illegal residents to leave voluntarily was made after careful consideration. While some individuals demanded a more lenient approach, Bugti emphasized that from November 1st onwards, there would be no negotiations for illegal foreign residents, irrespective of their nationality.

Bugti stated that anyone residing in Pakistan, be it Afghan nationals or individuals from any other country, possessing valid visas would not face any issues. However, he made it clear that only those residing unlawfully would be repatriated to their respective countries.

Following the federal government’s decision regarding illegal foreign residents, Pakistan has initiated the process of repatriating these individuals across the country. Many Afghan citizens, upon registration, have started returning to Afghanistan via various border points. According to border security sources, over four thousand illegal Afghan residents have voluntarily left Pakistan and returned to Afghanistan after the registration process.

The move signifies a firm stance by Pakistan’s government to address issues related to illegal immigration and enforce existing immigration laws strictly. The November 1st deadline serves as a clear message, emphasizing the need for all foreign nationals residing in Pakistan without legal authorization to abide by the law or face the consequences.

The stringent measures indicate the government’s determination to ensure national security, preserve resources for its citizens, and maintain law and order within its borders. The repatriation process aligns with international protocols and reflects Pakistan’s commitment to handling immigration matters responsibly. It is anticipated that these efforts will contribute significantly to regulating the influx of illegal immigrants, thereby fostering a more controlled and secure environment within the country.
