Trump warns Iran of harsher U.S. strikes, urges nuclear deal

U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday issued a stark warning to Iran, urging Tehran to negotiate a new nuclear agreement or face significantly more severe U.S. military action.

In a social media post, Trump called on Iran to “come to the table” and agree to a deal that ensures it does not acquire nuclear weapons. Emphasizing urgency, he wrote that time was running out and stressed the need for a “fair and equitable deal” that benefits all sides.

The Republican president, who withdrew the United States from the 2015 multilateral nuclear agreement with Iran during his first term, reminded Tehran that his previous warning had been followed by a U.S. military strike. He cautioned that any future attack would be “far worse,” adding that another U.S. “armada” was already moving toward Iran, signaling heightened military pressure.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi dismissed suggestions of renewed diplomatic engagement, saying he had not been in contact with U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff in recent days and had not requested negotiations. Iranian state media reported his remarks earlier on Wednesday.

The exchange underscores rising tensions between Washington and Tehran, with sharp rhetoric replacing diplomacy as both sides signal firm positions on Iran’s nuclear program.
