The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 player auction will take place on February 11, ARY News reported.
A detailed workshop on the PSL-11 auction was held in Lahore, attended by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, where key decisions regarding player categories and squad structures were announced.
The base prices for players have been fixed as follows: Rs42 million for the top category, Rs22 million for the second category, Rs11 million for the third category, and Rs6 million for the fourth category.
Each franchise will be allowed to have a squad comprising a minimum of 16 and a maximum of 20 players. Teams can include five to seven foreign players, with at least three to four overseas players required in the playing eleven.
Meanwhile, Pakistan is also considering a major decision regarding its participation in the T20 World Cup, reportedly due to the “inappropriate attitude” of the International Cricket Council (ICC) following the exclusion of Bangladesh from the tournament.
Sources revealed that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday to seek guidance on whether Pakistan should participate in the World Cup. There is also speculation that Pakistan may withdraw from the tournament altogether, and if it does participate, it is unlikely to play its scheduled match against arch-rival India.
