Karachi is likely to experience moderate weather conditions during the month of Ramazan, ARY News reported on Monday, citing the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
According to Deputy Director Meteorology Anjum Nazir Zigham, temperatures in the city are expected to hover around 30°C throughout Ramazan 2026, offering relatively comfortable conditions for fasting residents.
The PMD noted that two western wind systems may affect the country in February; however, it is still too early to determine their exact impact on Karachi’s weather.
Meanwhile, the ongoing cold wave in the city is expected to persist until the end of January. Night-time temperatures in February are forecast to range between 10°C and 15°C, while daytime temperatures may reach between 26°C and 30°C.
At present, no rainfall is forecast for Karachi. The Meteorology Department also clarified that the recent cold spell is not linked to climate change.
In contrast, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert for possible rainfall and snowfall in several regions, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
According to the alert, rain and snowfall are expected in most districts of these areas over the next twelve hours. The public has been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather and to take necessary precautions.
Relevant authorities have been directed to remain on high alert for rescue operations and road clearance in light of potential hazards.
