The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has started providing identity documentation and CNIC renewal services through selected e-Sahulat franchises across Pakistan to improve public access and reduce pressure on its registration centres.
Responding to public queries about available services and locations, NADRA spokesperson Shabahat Ali Syed said that although registrations of marriages, divorces, births and deaths are increasing, public reporting of these vital events remains relatively low. To address this, NADRA has partnered with Radio Pakistan to raise awareness about the importance of timely registration of life events.
The spokesperson noted that Karachi, due to its large population, continues to experience a steady rise in footfall at NADRA centres despite the opening of multiple facilities across the city.
To manage the growing demand, NADRA has decided to introduce e-Sahulat services at selected shops in specific neighbourhoods. He clarified, however, that amendments to personal data will not be facilitated at these outlets.
These neighbourhood-based mini centres will allow citizens to obtain CNICs and related identity services more efficiently through e-Sahulat franchises, helping to ease the burden on existing NADRA offices.
