Indian Idol 3 winner Prashant Tamang passes away at 43

Singer and actor Prashant Tamang, winner of Indian Idol Season 3, has passed away, leaving his family, fans, and the entertainment industry in shock. He was 43 years old.

According to Indian media reports on Sunday, January 11, Prashant Tamang was found unresponsive at his New Delhi residence. He was rushed to a private hospital in Dwarka around 9:00 am, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Initial reports suggest that the cause of death was cardiac arrest. Doctors believe it may have been a sudden heart-related issue, though the official cause of death has not yet been confirmed. Sources said that Prashant Tamang had no known serious health problems before the incident.

Prashant Tamang will be seen posthumously in the upcoming Salman Khan-starrer film “Battle of Galwan”, scheduled for release on April 17. The film is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and is based on the 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley.

Reacting to the news, Raju Bista, Member of Parliament from Darjeeling and BJP National Spokesperson, said:
“The untimely demise of Prashant Tamang, the popular singer and actor, has left the Gorkha community and the entire world of arts and music stunned and heartbroken.”
