Record levels of remittances sent by overseas Pakistanis reflect strong confidence in the government, Adviser to the Finance Minister Khurram Shehzad .
He said remittances in December 2025 crossed $3.6 billion, showing a significant increase compared to previous months. According to him, remittances were 17 per cent higher than December 2024 and 13 per cent higher than November 2025.
Khurram Shehzad stated that during the first half of fiscal year 2026, total remittances reached $19.7 billion, marking a 41 per cent increase compared to the same period last year. He expressed confidence that remittances for the entire FY2026 would exceed $41 billion.
Sharing a country-wise breakdown, he said the highest remittances in December came from Saudi Arabia, amounting to $813 million. This was followed by the United Arab Emirates with $726 million, the United Kingdom with $560 million, and the United States with $302 million.
He added that the strong growth in remittances highlighted the important role of overseas Pakistanis in supporting the national economy.
According to Khurram Shehzad, this continued support is a key factor in ensuring long-term economic stability, sustainable development, and a brighter future for Pakistan.
