Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Beijing Police College, where he toured various sections of the institution and observed its state-of-the-art, high-tech training facilities.
During the visit, the Beijing Police presented an impressive live demonstration showcasing the apprehension of suspects using specialized vehicles. The Interior Minister highly praised the Beijing Police for their exceptional professional skills and internationally recognized training standards. He particularly commended the special vehicle squad for its outstanding performance during the exercise.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi expressed deep admiration for the advanced training methodologies and operational capabilities of the vehicle squad. He announced that all Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) from Pakistan’s National Police Academy would be sent to the Beijing Police College for a one-month specialized training program. He further stated that cooperation between the National Police Academy and the Beijing Police College would be strengthened through formal agreements.
The Interior Minister emphasized that Pakistani police officers would be equipped with modern education and professional training in line with contemporary policing requirements. He added that a formal agreement would soon be signed to enhance institutional collaboration between the two academies.
As part of his visit, Mohsin Naqvi also operated a modern driving test simulator, observing firsthand the use of advanced technology in police training.
The President of Beijing Police College briefed the Interior Minister on the institution’s use of simulators and cutting-edge tools for training. He also highlighted how advanced technology is utilized to manage protests, violent incidents, and other criminal activities effectively.
Beijing Police College President Wu Wei informed Mohsin Naqvi that the institution offers comprehensive academic, professional, and artificial intelligence (AI)-based training. The college comprises 12 faculties with more than 400 faculty members, half of whom hold PhD degrees.
Federal Secretary Interior Khurram Agha, Director General National Police Academy Muhammad Idrees, Director General National Cyber Crimes Investigation Syed Khurram Ali, Inspector General of Islamabad Police Ali Nasir Rizvi, and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa were also present during the visit.
