The Sindh cabinet has approved an allocation of Rs2.9 billion for the development of industrial zones in Karachi, ARY News reported on Tuesday. The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah in Karachi.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, the chief minister said the provincial government is committed to promoting industrial development and will announce separate packages for industrial areas in other cities of Sindh.
He said the Industries Department is working on plans to upgrade industrial zones across the province, and formal announcements will be made once the projects are finalized.
Murad Ali Shah added that the approved funds will be utilized to repair roads and improve drainage systems in all industrial zones of Karachi.
The chief minister also highlighted the results of public hearings held in 23 districts, during which complaints related to law and order, policing, healthcare, municipal services, water supply, roads, irrigation, and education were received. He directed all relevant departments to resolve these issues and submit reports, warning that strict action will be taken against officials who fail to address public complaints. Public hearings, he added, will resume in the second week of January.
