Karachi Police Foil Suicide Attack Plot, Rescue Minor Girl.

Law enforcement agencies in Karachi stopped a planned suicide attack by taking timely action and rescuing a minor Baloch girl who was being prepared for the attack.

Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, along with Additional IG CTD Muhammad Azad Khan, said in a press conference that terrorist groups were trying to turn the girl into a suicide bomber. He said these groups are now targeting underage children and using social media to spread extremist thinking.

According to officials, a network linked to banned organizations BLA and BLF contacted and misled the girl through social media. Because of quick action by security agencies, the girl was safely recovered and a major tragedy in Karachi was prevented.

Additional IG CTD said the girl was taken into protective custody during an intelligence-based operation on December 25. Investigations showed that extremist content on social media slowly influenced her thinking. Terrorist handlers contacted her using sympathy and emotional manipulation, especially after learning about her father’s death.

The girl was brought to Karachi, but strict security checks stopped the handler from taking her further, which exposed the plan. The girl shared full details of the network with authorities. Due to her young age, her family was immediately called, and she was safely handed over to them with full protection. Her identity was kept secret.

During the press conference, recorded statements of the girl and her mother were played without revealing their identities. The girl said she was shown hateful content repeatedly on social media and was made to believe that sacrificing her life was a great act. She later realized how dangerous the situation was and said that using women and young girls for such acts is against Baloch culture.

Her mother thanked the state for saving her daughter’s life and said she spoke publicly so that other families remain alert and no other girl becomes a victim.

Officials urged social media companies to remove extremist content and warned parents to closely monitor their children’s online activity. They said action will continue against terrorist networks under a zero-tolerance policy.

The Sindh Home Minister said this case proves that banned groups are exploiting women and minors. He stressed that suicide attacks have no place in Islam, humanity, or Baloch traditions, and forcing young girls into such acts is a serious crime.
