In a recent interview with The New Indian, Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor has spoken out about the tragic death of his wife, the legendary actress Sri Devi, which occurred in 2018. Kapoor firmly stated that Sri Devi’s demise “wasn’t natural but accidental” and recounted the extensive tests and investigations he underwent to establish the truth.
Kapoor explained that Dubai police conducted these investigations due to immense pressure from the Indian media. However, the authorities eventually concluded that there was “no foul play” involved in the incident. He also revealed that he willingly took lie detector tests to prove his innocence, emphasizing that the final report unequivocally confirmed the accidental nature of Sri Devi’s death by drowning in a bathtub.
The grieving husband shed light on Sri Devi’s health struggles, attributing her declining well-being to rigorous diets she followed. He disclosed that she frequently starved herself in her pursuit of maintaining her appearance, noting, “She often used to starve; she wanted to look good.” Kapoor admitted that he had urged her to prioritize her health, but his advice was not heeded.
Sridevi tragically passed away by drowning in a Dubai hotel bathtub while attending a family wedding. She left behind two daughters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, with Boney Kapoor.
