Sri Lankan comedy “ken B Enivan’s story” entertains audience at Pakistan theatre festival.

Sri Lanka’s Stages Theatre Group took center stage during the ongoing Pakistan Theatre Festival, held at the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi. On Friday, they presented the comedy show titled “Ken B Enivan’s Story.”

This month-long festival is a collaborative effort between the Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP) and Geo News.

The comedy play, designed by Hidayaath Hazeer and Ruwanthie de Chickera, featured stellar performances by the talented cast, including Shala Amarasuriya, Bhanu Ekanayaka, Tracy Jayasinge, Oshada Kumarikkanda, Akalanka Prabarshwara, Duminda Sandaruwan, Hidayaath Hazeer, Vimukthi Kiriella, all of whom are students of the Arts Council Theatre Academy.

Marhaba Noor and Komal Hayat Veerji’s performances took center stage and garnered much attention during the show.

“Ken B Enivan’s Story” narrates the tale of a man who, despite having two chances to live differently, consistently chooses one path in life. The central character, Ken B Eniwan, experiences the various milestones of his life and faces the choice between living with faith or fear.

The show was attended by notable figures, including Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmad Shah and the Consul Generals of Sri Lanka, Oman, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Mr. Shah expressed appreciation for Sri Lankan Consul General Jagath Abeywarna’s significant support in ensuring the participation of Sri Lankan groups in the festival, which contributes to cultural promotion.

Additionally, the Sri Lankan artists delighted the audience with cultural dance performances, leaving a lasting impression on the spectators.

The show received praise from the large audience in attendance for its captivating performances and entertaining storyline.
