Field Marshal and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Wednesday reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s firm commitment to supporting the federal and provincial governments, stressing that coordinated national efforts and institutional synergy are vital for sustainable peace, stability, and prosperity, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Participants of the National Security Workshop–27 (NSW–27) visited the General Headquarters (GHQ), where they were given detailed briefings on Pakistan’s regional and internal security dynamics, as well as the prevailing national security environment.
During the visit, the delegation also held an interactive session with the COAS.
‘Pakistan is Destined for Its Rightful Place’: COAS
According to ISPR, General Munir highlighted the rapidly evolving regional environment, influenced by intense geopolitical competition, cross-border terrorism, and hybrid warfare threats.
Despite these complex challenges — including externally supported militancy and information-centric warfare — the COAS said Pakistan’s Armed Forces, intelligence agencies, and law-enforcement institutions continue to exhibit unwavering professionalism and commitment to safeguarding national security.
He stated that Pakistan remains a country of consequence, destined to achieve its rightful place in the global community. The professionalism and resolve of the Armed Forces demonstrated during Marka-e-Haq had further elevated Pakistan’s international standing, he added.
“Our greatest strength lies in national unity, and together we shall defeat the nefarious designs of our foes, Insha’Allah,” General Munir remarked.
Briefings on National Crackdown Efforts and Border Security
Participants were briefed on ongoing national efforts to curb smuggling, narcotics trafficking, and organised criminal networks, which pose significant threats to internal security.
Updates were also provided on tightened border controls and the repatriation of illegal foreigners, initiatives aimed at maintaining internal order and protecting national interests.
The COAS reiterated that the territorial integrity and security of every Pakistani citizen is paramount for the Pakistan Army and will not be compromised under any circumstances.
Call for Synergy Among State Institutions
Concluding the session, General Munir reaffirmed the Army’s unwavering support for federal and provincial governments. He emphasized that synchronized national actions and institutional harmony are essential for long-term peace, stability, and economic progress.
