Karachi Kings owner and President & CEO of ARY Digital Network, Salman Iqbal, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Sri Lanka, its cricket board, and players for their decision to play in Pakistan. He described it as a reflection of true sportsmanship and the deep-rooted friendship between the two nations.
In his statement, Salman Iqbal said the move by the Sri Lanka Cricket Board and team highlights the strong bonds of trust and mutual respect that define Pakistan–Sri Lanka relations.
“This decision has revived the true spirit of the game and elevated Pakistan’s global image as a capable and welcoming host,” he remarked.
He further noted that Sri Lanka’s confidence in Pakistan would help boost international trust in the country’s cricketing and organizational capabilities. “Pakistan has always cherished its friendship with Sri Lanka — a relationship built on respect, confidence, and shared love for cricket,” he added.
Salman Iqbal emphasized that the people of Pakistan, the armed forces, and the cricketing community stand united in ensuring the upcoming series becomes a memorable event. He concluded with,
“Thank you, Sri Lanka — friendship not out! Pakistan Zindabad!”
Meanwhile, sources revealed that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met with the Sri Lankan players for about 90 minutes to address their concerns. During the meeting, Naqvi assured them of strict security measures and even invited their families to visit Pakistan to enjoy the matches.
Following the discussions, all Sri Lankan players agreed to continue the tour, dismissing earlier reports of their return.
Mohsin Naqvi thanked the Sri Lankan team for their decision, saying they have set a remarkable example of solidarity and sportsmanship by continuing the series despite recent security concerns.
Sources confirmed that eight Sri Lankan players, who had initially requested to return home, have now agreed to stay after receiving full assurance from the PCB.
