Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has emphasized that the issue of level playing field for the upcoming elections is not a complaint against any specific party but is directed solely at the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). He clarified that if the complaint were against someone else, he would have named them.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari made these statements in Lahore while addressing various important issues facing Pakistan, including electoral fairness and the economic challenges the country is grappling with. His comments come at a crucial juncture in Pakistani politics as the nation gears up for the upcoming general elections.
Regarding the issue of leveling the playing field for all political parties, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated that Asif Zardari, former President and senior PPP leader, would resolve the complaint. He stressed the need to provide Asif Zardari with the necessary time to address this matter, emphasizing that the power to announce election dates and schedules lies with the Election Commission of Pakistan, not any establishment or other entity.
Commenting on the return of Nawaz Sharif to Pakistan, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed that the PPP would welcome Nawaz Sharif. He further stated that his party is prepared to face its own cases, implying that Nawaz Sharif should similarly confront the legal challenges he faces.
Addressing the issue of inflation, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari pointed out that the problem facing the people of Pakistan is not the identity of prisoners but the unprecedented inflation that has gripped the nation. The rising cost of living has made it difficult for people to make ends meet, and addressing this issue is a priority.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stressed the need for a government that is people-friendly and responsive to the challenges faced by the common citizens. He noted that the people need hope and a roadmap to navigate the economic difficulties they are currently experiencing.
Turning to international affairs, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari highlighted that India has revealed its true face to the world. He emphasized that it is time for the global community to acknowledge that India has become an extremist Hindu supremacist state. He called upon the international community to take notice of India’s actions and its transformation into a radicalized nation.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s statements reflect the PPP’s commitment to a fair electoral process, its readiness to confront legal challenges, and its concern for the economic hardships faced by the people of Pakistan. Additionally, he called for international recognition of India’s concerning shift toward extremism and urged global powers to take action. His remarks are significant in shaping the political discourse in Pakistan in the lead-up to the upcoming elections.
