Singer Asim Azhar has spoken out about a viral video of his ex-fiancée Merub Ali from one of his concerts, which resurfaced online amid renewed romance rumors linking him to actress Hania Aamir.
Recently, several entertainment outlets reposted an old clip of Merub attending one of Asim’s concerts, falsely claiming it was from a recent performance. One outlet even reported, “At Asim Azhar’s recent concert, fans were thrilled to spot Merub Ali in the audience — and the night took an even sweeter turn when Asim dedicated the timeless song ‘Yeh Dosti Hum Nahi Chorenge’ to her.”
Setting the record straight, Asim took to his Instagram story to address the misleading reporting, urging media pages to act responsibly.
“With all due respect, I want to address a few entertainment pages that have been posting an old video, misleading the public. I really expect better reporting in the name of journalism,” he wrote.
The “Jo Tu Na Mila” hitmaker further criticized such outlets for spreading misinformation, emphasizing their responsibility given their large followings.
“You are followed by millions in total — surely, you have a responsibility to project correct information and context,” he said.
Asim also added,
“Please, do not spread old videos without context. Do some research first. And if you’ve done it knowingly just to get likes and reach, then only Allah is safe. It’s not like I haven’t been giving enough content anyway — iski kya hi zarurat hai.”
Asim Azhar’s remarks come amid intense social media speculation about his personal life and a possible reconnection with Hania Aamir, which has once again become a trending topic among fans and entertainment circles.
