Major Flight Cancellations from Karachi
The day began with a series of notable cancellations at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport. Qatar Airways canceled its round-trip flights 604 and 605 on the Karachi–Doha route, while AirAsia canceled its round-trip flights 121 and 122 between Karachi and Islamabad. These developments added to the overall wave of Pakistan flight cancellations, raising questions about scheduling stability across major routes.
AirAsia also scrapped Karachi–Lahore round-trip flights 141 and 142, along with its afternoon flights 143 and 144. Later in the evening, round-trip flights 125 and 126 on the same route were also not operated. The repeated cancellations reflected ongoing operational difficulties faced by the airline throughout the day.
Salam Air also canceled its Muscat–Karachi round-trip flight, adding to the list of international disruptions from Karachi.
Long Delays Hit PIA’s Karachi Operations
PIA’s schedule was particularly affected. The airline’s Karachi to Islamabad flight PK 300, originally scheduled for 7 a.m., was delayed by nearly five hours and rescheduled to depart at noon. Meanwhile, the 8 a.m. Karachi to Lahore PIA flight also took off one hour and 20 minutes behind schedule.
The national carrier’s Karachi to Toronto flight PK 783 departed 30 minutes late at 9:36 a.m. Additionally, Qatar Airways’ morning flight 611 from Karachi to Doha departed 10 minutes later than its scheduled time at 9:40 a.m.
Another notable entry in the list of Pakistan flight cancellations was PIA’s Karachi to Skardu flight PK 455, which was also canceled.
Islamabad Airport Faces Delays but Fewer Cancellations
Islamabad International Airport saw several significant delays. PIA’s 7 a.m. Islamabad to Gilgit flight 601 departed at 7:42 a.m., a delay of 42 minutes. Later in the day, PIA’s flight 301 from Islamabad to Karachi, scheduled for 10 a.m., was pushed to 2 p.m., resulting in a four-hour delay.
Evening operations were also affected, as PIA’s flight PK 309 from Islamabad to Karachi was expected to depart approximately one hour behind schedule. Although Islamabad experienced fewer outright cancellations, the delays contributed to the broader pattern of Pakistan flight cancellations and service disruptions observed nationwide.
Lahore Airport Also Affected by Delays
Flight operations from Lahore Airport faced similar challenges. Air Blue’s flight PA 401 from Lahore to Karachi, scheduled for 8 a.m., departed 48 minutes late at 8:48 a.m. PIA’s Lahore–Karachi flight PK 303 also departed an hour late at 10:45 a.m. While Lahore did not witness a high number of cancellations, the delays were enough to create crowding and operational congestion throughout the day.

The wave of Pakistan flight cancellations caused considerable inconvenience for passengers, many of whom were forced to wait for hours at airports or reschedule their travel entirely. Delays of several hours meant missed connections, disrupted business plans, and altered holiday itineraries.
