Punjab launches mobile app for assistive devices and wheelchairs.

The Punjab Social Welfare Department has launched a new mobile application, “Assistive Devices and Wheelchair,” to improve accessibility for persons with disabilities. The app enables individuals to request mobility aids and assistive devices from their homes with ease.

Introduced under the Digital Vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the initiative ensures that assistive equipment — including wheelchairs — is delivered directly to citizens’ doorsteps with a single click.

Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Punjab, Sohail Shaukat Butt, officially launched the app, emphasizing that the initiative will simplify and streamline the process of providing assistive devices across the province.

Through the app, persons with disabilities can now apply for wheelchairs and other support equipment without visiting government offices.

The application is available for download on the Google Play Store at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adwc&hl=en or by searching “Assistive Devices and Wheelchair.”

Minister Sohail Shaukat Butt said the government is committed to empowering persons with disabilities through technology and inclusion. “The Punjab government is dedicated to ensuring accessibility and providing all possible facilities through innovative digital solutions,” he stated.

He added that the app will also help field officers register, process, and monitor applications more efficiently. The Social Welfare Department has instructed all officers to download the app and launch public awareness campaigns to inform citizens about the new service.
