Pakistani entrepreneur Rehan Jalil’s securiti AI acquired by Veeam in $1.7 billion deal.

Cybersecurity and data protection startup Securiti AI, founded by Pakistani entrepreneur Rehan Jalil, has been acquired by global data-resilience firm Veeam in a deal worth approximately $1.7 billion. The acquisition marks a major milestone for Pakistani innovation on the global tech stage, as it integrates Securiti’s advanced data security and AI governance tools into Veeam’s enterprise solutions.

Securiti AI specializes in developing technologies that help organizations discover, secure, and manage data across cloud services and applications. Its flagship platform, the Data Command Center, enables companies to ensure privacy, regulatory compliance, and security in the age of artificial intelligence. By incorporating these capabilities, Veeam aims to strengthen its offerings for businesses increasingly reliant on AI-driven systems.

Under the agreement, Securiti’s founder and CEO Rehan Jalil will join Veeam as President of Security and AI once the transaction concludes. The deal, which includes both cash and equity components, is expected to close later this year pending regulatory approval.

With growing global demand for solutions that ensure AI systems handle data responsibly and securely, the acquisition underscores the rising value of companies like Securiti AI. The move has been widely celebrated within the Pakistani tech community, highlighting the expanding impact of Pakistani talent in Silicon Valley and the global AI ecosystem.

Veeam plans to continue offering Securiti’s existing products while integrating its privacy, governance, and AI-trust features into Veeam’s backup and recovery solutions. Together, the two firms aim to accelerate safe and compliant AI adoption, ensuring data remains protected, private, and recoverable across enterprise environments.
