Prince andrew promises King Charles he won’t write ‘Spare’-style memoir amid Royal concerns.

After Prince Harry’s explosive revelations about the British monarchy in his interviews, Netflix series, and his memoir Spare, the Royal Family is reportedly anxious that Prince Andrew might take a similar route following his own fall from grace.

According to a report by The Sun, the Duke of York has personally assured King Charles that he has no plans to write a tell-all memoir.

“Andrew won’t write a book like Spare. He has promised the King,” a source told the outlet.

The concerns arose after Prince Andrew was stripped of his royal titles and continued to face pressure to vacate Royal Lodge, where he resides with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.

Ferguson, who has lived with Andrew since 2003, has reportedly received multiple offers from publishers this year to write an updated autobiography. Sources claim she has held “exploratory talks” but intends to focus on a life lessons book, rather than a sensational, tell-all narrative.

“It is not designed to exonerate Andrew, but obviously she would not be able to write him out of it as he is an important part of her life,” an insider said. “She couldn’t write a memoir without him being in it.”

Sarah Ferguson has previously written two memoirs:

  • My Story (1996) — where she opened up about her time in the Royal Family, her marriage breakdown with Prince Andrew, and her struggles with media scrutiny.
  • Finding Sarah (2011) — a more personal account focusing on her financial difficulties and life after royal fame.

While speculation continues about her next book project, both Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson appear to be steering clear of any controversy that could reignite royal tensions.
