WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that will allow users to add their Facebook profile links directly to their WhatsApp profiles, making it easier to connect across Meta’s platforms.
The update, currently available to beta testers, was first spotted by WABetaInfo in the latest WhatsApp beta version 2.25.29.16 for Android. The feature follows the app’s earlier rollout of Instagram profile linking and is expected to reach all users in future updates.
Once the option is available, testers can attach their Facebook account link to their WhatsApp profile page. The link will appear under their profile information, allowing others to easily view or connect with them.
Users can verify the link through Meta’s Accounts Center to confirm ownership, though verification is optional. Verified links will display a small verified icon, indicating both accounts belong to the same person, while unverified links will show the full Facebook URL without proof of ownership.
The rollout appears to be gradual — some beta testers have received the update, while others, including Gadgets 360, have reported that the feature is not yet visible even after updating.
Privacy remains a key focus, as WhatsApp users can control who sees their linked profiles. Under Settings > Privacy > Links, users can choose whether their Facebook link is visible to everyone, contacts only, selected individuals, or no one at all.
The addition of Facebook linking further integrates Meta’s ecosystem, streamlining connections across WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook while maintaining user control over privacy and visibility.
