WhatsApp tests new “Status Questions” Feature for Android Users 💬📱.

Meta-owned WhatsApp has started testing a brand-new “Status Questions” feature for Android, giving users a more interactive way to engage with their contacts. According to WABetaInfo, the feature is currently available to select beta testers via the Google Play Store (version 2.25.29.12).

🔹 What the Feature Does

The Status Questions feature allows users to:

  • Add a custom question box to their WhatsApp Status.
  • Let friends and contacts respond directly within the story update.
  • Collect all responses privately, visible only to the original poster.

This addition works similarly to Instagram’s Q&A stickers, blending creativity with engagement. Users can attach the question box alongside photos, videos, or text updates on their status.

🔹 Notifications and Privacy

Whenever someone replies, WhatsApp instantly sends a push notification with a preview of the response — making it easy for users to stay updated and reply quickly.

As always, end-to-end encryption ensures that all exchanges remain private — only the sender and the recipient can see the shared messages or answers.

🔹 Availability

At the moment, the feature is:

  • Exclusive to beta testers enrolled in WhatsApp’s Google Play Beta Program.
  • Expected to roll out gradually to all Android users once testing is complete.
  • iOS support is also expected in a future update.

🔹 How to Try It

To explore the new feature early, users can join the WhatsApp Beta Program on Google Play — though slots often fill quickly due to high demand.

This update is part of WhatsApp’s ongoing effort to make Status updates more dynamic, following earlier additions like voice notes, polls, and emoji reactions.
