The first batch of the South African cricket team arrived in Lahore early Wednesday morning ahead of their two-match Test series against Pakistan. The players were escorted to a local hotel under tight security arrangements, while the second batch is expected to land at Allama Iqbal International Airport within a few hours.
The first Test will be played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, from October 12 to 16, followed by the second Test at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from October 20 to 24.
South Africa, who are the current ICC World Test Championship 2023–25 winners, will be looking to continue their strong red-ball form against a revamped Pakistan Test squad.
Pakistan Squad Updates
Ahead of the series, Pakistan made adjustments to their squad — fast bowler Amir Jamal and spinner Faisal Akram have been released, bringing the squad strength down from 18 to 16 players.
Upcoming White-Ball Series
Following the Test matches, the two teams will face off in a limited-overs leg, consisting of three T20 Internationals and three One-Day Internationals between October 28 and November 8.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will announce the white-ball squad closer to the series.
