Pakistan women’s captain Fatima Sana won the toss and chose to bowl first against Australia in their third match of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup on Wednesday.
Pakistan are still searching for their first win of the tournament after suffering defeats in their opening two matches against Bangladesh and India. Meanwhile, Australia have had a mixed start, winning one game and losing one.
For Pakistan, Aliya Riaz has been left out, with Eyman Fatima coming into the playing XI. Skipper Fatima Sana emphasized the need for strong batting partnerships, expressing hope that her team’s batters can deliver under pressure.
Australia made two changes, bringing in Georgia Wareham and Megan Schutt, while Darcie Brown and another player were left out.
A loss in today’s game would significantly hurt Pakistan’s chances of reaching the semifinals.
