Flood situation worsens at Kotri barrage as indus river water levels rise.

The Indus River continues to swell, with water levels at Kotri Barrage reaching a medium flood stage, while Guddu and Sukkur barrages remain in low flood.

Floodwaters have inundated low-lying areas of Sehwan and Manjhand, spreading into dozens of villages and forcing residents to evacuate. Water has also reached both sides of the railway track, sparking concerns over possible damage.

According to the barrage control room:

  • Kotri Barrage: Inflow has surged to 407,214 cusecs with an outflow of 380,159 cusecs.
  • Guddu Barrage: Inflow stands at 201,487 cusecs and outflow at 172,224 cusecs.
  • Sukkur Barrage: Inflow recorded at 199,939 cusecs, with outflow at 144,909 cusecs.

Meanwhile, the Indus, Chenab, and Ravi rivers in Punjab have returned to normal levels, while the Sutlej River remains in low flood at Ganda Singh Wala, Sulemanki, and Islam headworks. The Flood Forecasting Division (FFD) has noted that water flow in the Sutlej is gradually decreasing.
