WWE fans finally got what they’ve been hoping for—John Cena will face AJ Styles one last time as part of his farewell tour.
Cena, who plans to retire at the end of this year, has already shared the ring in 2025 with legends like Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and CM Punk. However, after his recent humiliating loss to Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza, many feared he might end his career without a final clash against one of his toughest rivals, AJ Styles.
Breaking the suspense, Cena issued a challenge on X, directly calling out the former WWE Champion. Though he admitted he doesn’t pick his opponents, he urged WWE to “listen to the fans” and tagged Styles in the process. He even invoked Triple H with a playful twist on the iconic “Are You Ready?” line, asking if the WWE creative head was paying attention.
AJ Styles wasted no time responding, showing eagerness to battle Cena once more.
Their rivalry is one of WWE’s most iconic of the past decade, beginning in 2016. They fought four times:
- Money in the Bank 2016
- SummerSlam 2016
- Royal Rumble 2017
- SmackDown (Feb 27, 2018)
With two wins apiece, their record stands tied, adding extra intrigue to this rumored final encounter.
If plans go through, Cena vs. Styles III (or V overall) is likely to headline Crown Jewel in October, giving fans a chance to witness history one last time.
