Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and U.S. President Donald Trump exchanged warm pleasantries during the Arab-Islamic Summit held in New York on Wednesday.
The two leaders had an informal interaction marked by a warm handshake and candid conversation. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar was also present during the exchange.
The summit, hosted by President Trump and Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, was attended by several world leaders. On the sidelines, Prime Minister Sharif also met with Sheikh Tamim, King Abdullah II of Jordan, and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. These meetings featured cordial handshakes, informal discussions, and meaningful exchanges on global and regional issues.
Earlier, the Prime Minister held a bilateral meeting with Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah during the UN General Assembly session in New York. He highlighted the historic and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Kuwait, extending his respects and good wishes to the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Prime Minister Sharif expressed gratitude for Kuwait’s solidarity during Pakistan’s recent floods and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Kuwait in areas including trade, investment, agriculture, livestock, manpower export, and healthcare.
