Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep gratitude for the warm reception accorded to him by Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman during his official visit to Riyadh.
Upon his arrival, the Prime Minister’s aircraft was escorted by Royal Saudi Air Force jets, followed by a ceremonial guard of honour by the Saudi Armed Forces. He described this unprecedented welcome as a reflection of the long-standing friendship, mutual respect, and affection between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
During his meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, both leaders discussed a broad range of issues, including regional challenges and opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation.
In a post on X, PM Shehbaz lauded the Crown Prince’s visionary leadership in guiding the Muslim world and reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to further strengthening ties with the Kingdom. He also emphasized the importance of expanding Saudi investments, trade, and business collaboration, while appreciating the Crown Prince’s unwavering support.
The Prime Minister prayed for the Pakistan-Saudi partnership to grow stronger and reach new heights in the years ahead.
A joint statement from the PM Office Media Wing highlighted a landmark defense agreement between the two nations, reinforcing their shared commitment to regional peace and security. The pact underscores that any aggression against either Pakistan or Saudi Arabia will be considered aggression against both, strengthening joint deterrence and deepening defense cooperation.
The statement further noted that this agreement builds on nearly eight decades of historic partnership, rooted in brotherhood, Islamic solidarity, and shared strategic interests.
