Islamabad — A federal government report has confirmed that more than 100 health centers across Pakistan have been damaged in the recent floods, severely affecting healthcare services in multiple regions.
According to the report, 104 health facilities sustained damage nationwide — 7 completely destroyed and 97 partially affected.
Province-Wise Impact
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP): 3 centers destroyed; 60 residences of lady health workers damaged (32 completely, 28 partially).
- Sindh: 2 centers destroyed, 25 facilities damaged overall.
- Punjab: 12 facilities damaged.
- Gilgit-Baltistan (GB): 2 centers destroyed, 7 damaged in total.
Restoration Efforts
Authorities noted that 97 partially damaged centers have already been restored, ensuring continuity of basic medical services. However, areas where facilities collapsed remain without proper healthcare access.
The floods have also taken a toll on frontline health staff. In KP alone, dozens of lady health workers lost their homes, further straining community-level services.
Urgent Need for Rebuilding
Officials stressed that rebuilding destroyed health infrastructure is now a top priority, as many flood-hit communities continue to face limited medical care and disrupted public health services.
