In a recent interview, actor Syra Yousuf reflected on her parenting journey with ex-husband Shahroz Sabzwari and highlighted the close bond between their daughter Nooreh, 11, and Shahroz’s younger daughter Zahra, 3, from his marriage to Sadaf Kanwal.
Yousuf, 37, emphasized the importance of sibling relationships, drawing from her own experience of growing up with her sisters, Alishba Yousuf and Palwasha Yousuf. “I always wanted Nooreh to have a sibling as well,” she shared. “Though her parents separated before she could have one from me, she still has a sister from her father — and what matters most is that they share a loving bond.”
The Sinf-e-Aahan star stressed that she has no right to interfere in that relationship. “Because she is her sister, and I am no one to take that away from her,” she said.
Encouraging parents in similar situations, Yousuf urged them to avoid decisions that could be unfair to their children. “Nooreh was born in this family and has all these relatives who love her so much, so I can’t take that away. It would be unfair on her part,” she noted, adding that both sisters meet and spend time together whenever possible.
This heartfelt take reflects a conscious effort by Yousuf, Sabzwari, and Kanwal to nurture affection between the half-siblings while maintaining a healthy co-parenting balance.
