The rumors intensified as Trump skipped his usual public appearances and maintained a much lower profile than normal. Adding to the frenzy, unverified recordings and images began circulating widely on social media.
Comments from Vice President JD Vance about presidential succession during a routine discussion were also misinterpreted as confirmation of the speculations, further amplifying the rumors.
