Heavy monsoon rains trigger flooding, roof collapse, and Road damage across Punjab, KP, and AJK.

Several cities in Punjab, including Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Wazirabad, Jhelum, Gujrat, Khushab, and Bahawalnagar, experienced heavy monsoon downpours. Lahore’s Nishtar Town recorded the highest rainfall at 135mm.

Wazirabad and its surrounding areas witnessed continuous rain for four hours, while in Nankana Sahib, streets and markets turned into canals due to water accumulation. In Malikwal, a rooftop collapse tragically claimed the life of a nine-month-old infant and left two others injured.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar, Khyber, Bannu, Karak, Malakand, and Abbottabad were lashed by heavy showers. Similarly, in Azad Kashmir, the districts of Bagh, Mirpur, and Bhimber also faced intense rainfall, which led to flooding in local streams, drains, and low-lying neighborhoods.

The heavy downpour caused the Buner River to overflow, while a strong flow of water swept through Jamrud in Khyber district. A portion of the Pak-Afghan highway was washed away, suspending vehicular traffic and further disrupting connectivity in the region.
